Mrs. Dorothy Jessie Hardy (née Glenn) July 27, 1914 - October 20, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) HARDY, Dorothy Jessie - 91. It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Dorothy Jessie (Glenn) Hardy of Halifax and Cape Forchu, Yarmouth Co., in Dartmouth General Hospital on October 20, 2005. She was a daughter of the late James and Annette Mary (Brown) Glenn. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great- grandmother. She was an avid bingo player for years. Dorothy loved all of her nine children, 35 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren, and took pride in everything they accomplished in her lifetime. She is survived by son, Ken Hardy, Enfield; daughters, Dorothy (Ken) Warner, Prince Edward Island; Joan (John) Wolfe, Dartmouth; Marion (Bob) Hamilton, Halifax; Ethel (Ralph) Lawrence, Dartmouth; Betty (Stan) Johns, Dartmouth; Colleen (Ozzie) Burke, Lower Sackville; Karen (Don) Davison, Dartmouth; sister, Lenora Harrington, Halifax; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, James Gordon Hardy; son, Bernard Earl Hardy; daughters-in-law, Lorna (Dalrymple) Hardy, Marion (Lowe) Hardy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, and funeral service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 22, Father Cosgrove officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice. On-line
