Dorothy Muriel O'Leary (née Shunamon) March 09, 1922 - October 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home * O’LEARY……Dorothy Muriel, age 83, of Ste. Croix, Hants County, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on March 9, 1922, in Beaverbank, Hants County, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Viola (Driscoll) Shunamon. She was an avid Bingo player and bowler. She enjoyed yard sales, shopping and most of all, being with her family whom she loved so much. As a young woman, she was employed with the Uniacke family, in Mount Uniacke, before the home became a museum. She also worked for 5 years at the Haliburton Museum, Windsor, until her retirement. She dedictated her entire life to loving and caring for her family. She is survived by daughters, Kaye O’Leary, Brooklyn; Beverly (Lloy) Matheson, Falmouth; Jean (Ken) Chisholm, Ellershouse; Joyce (Bill) Redden, Windsor; Gail (Rick) Demmings, Falmouth; Marlene (Blake) Murphy, Ellershouse; Christine O’Leary (Dale Parker), Centre Burlington; sons, Doug (Carol) O’Leary, Ardoise; Mike O’Leary (Judy Balch), Bedford; Kevin (Lori) O’Leary, Falmouth; Kelly (Leeanna) O’Leary, Belmont; daughters-in-law, Gail O’Leary, Ardoise; Pam O’Leary, Bedford; son-in-law, Grover (Karen) Crowe, Ellershouse; 28 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Diane Church, Windsor; Marion Harvey, Windsor Elms; brother, Phillip (Jane) Shunamon, Mount Uniacke; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Foster Edward O’Leary (1976); son, Dean O’Leary; daughter, Carol Crowe (O’Leary); brother, Donald Shunamon; son-in-law, Maurice McNeille. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005, in the Ste. Croix United Church, Ste. Croix, with Rev. Karen Pearce officiating. A private family interment following at the Ste. Croix Cemetery, Ste. Croix. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
