BERNARD, Anthony Joseph `Tony', Retired Major Proud Veteran of World War II, The Korean Conflict and Indo China, Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 560 1916 - 2005 Peacefully, after many strokes, at Rideaucrest Home for the Aged on Saturday, May 14, 2005. Be loved husband of the late Mary Kathleen McDonell. Loving father of Joe and his wife Sue of Kingston, Mary Hyland and her husband Mike of Ajax and Paula Allen and her husband Bill, also of Kingston. Proud grandfather of Davina Whitmore, Steven Bernard , Sean Allen, Patrick Allen, Maria MacDonald and Julia MacDonald. Predeceased by parents Paul Bernard and the former Angelina Arsenault, both of Tignish, P.E.I., brothers Dan, Henry and Victor and by sisters Adele, Evelyn, Emily and Josephine, all of the East Coast. Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel (1900 John Counter Boulevard) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with Parish Rosary Thursday at 2 p.m. Funeral Friday, May 20, 2005 for Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (392 Palace Road) at 11 a.m. Monsignor Joseph Lynch officiating.
