HOLMES, JOAN IRENE Mrs. Joan Irene Holmes, beloved wife of Mr. John Holmes of Red Deer, passed away suddenly after a brief illness at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, August 1, 2005 at the age of 56 years. Joan was born on May 17, 194 9 at Odessa, Ontario. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, Joan was a very loving, caring and devoted wife and mother who cherished her family with all her heart. Joan was a very special lady whose humble kindness, lovely smi le and friendly and carefree nature brought her many lifelong friendships. She worked for the Canada Postal Corporation for twenty-five years during which time Joan showed her complete and true dedication and commitment to her career. She was a very hard worker and never called in sick. Joan was a very bright and intelligent person as well and was admired for her ability to read books cover to cover in no time at all. She loved gardening and especially loved her flowers, and she also enjoyed tra veling and taking trips to many different places. Joan will be very deeply and sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and many dear friends. Joan leaves to mourn her loss, her loving husband of thirty-s ix years, John of Red Deer, her daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law, Ray Leckie of Edmonton, Alberta and her son, Michael Holmes and his fiance, Shara-Lee Gascon of Blackfalds, Alberta. She will also be sadly missed by her nieces, Cathy Tyner of Napane e, Ontario and Michelle Mellor of Toronto, Ontario, as well as numerous other family members and her devoted friends. Joan was predeceased by her father, Fred Hogle, her mother, Edith Hogle and two brothers, Ray and Glen Hogle. Funeral Mass will be c elebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508-48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
