WEST, Mary Lucille An incomparable mother, grandmother and wife of the late Queen's professor, Allen Sherman West, died in Kingston General Hospital on August 14, 2005. She is survived by her children Susan, Catherine and Christopher and her grandchi ldren Devlyn, Gareth, Aislinn, Jared, Nicholas, Marina, Julia, Emma, Olivia, Harry, Allen, Jennifer and Rebecca; by her two kitties, Ruby and Bloom; and by a legion of friends. Born to Mary Rothwell and Dr. Harry Quinn in Brantford, Ontario in 1923, she was felled far too soon by an insidious blood disorder. We will remember and cherish her for her wide-ranging interests and self-effacing intelligence; for being the hostess with the mostest; for her beauty that never took itself too seriously; f or her gift of friendship fuelled by a passionate belief in the people she cared about, regardless of circumstances; for her left-handed, inimitable humour;for her youthful vitality and outlook right up to the end; and for her great, big, beating Iri sh heart. Susie, Kate and Chris will be receiving family and friends from Wednesday, August 17 through Sunday, August 21 at Albert St. from 5-7 pm. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
