BORIC, Ivan Anthony In loving memory of Ivan Anthony Boric, 83 years, of Sudbury, who passed away peacefully Saturday, October 22nd, 2005, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Lucija (Tomac) Boric of Sudbury. Loving father of Mary (husband Drago Gavric) of Coquitlam, B.C., Helen of Sudbury and Nikola (wife Julie) of Komoka. Cherished Dida to Emily, Ivan, Katie and Klara. Dear son of Nikola and Marija Boric, predeceased. Dear brother of Marica Pastuovic of Croatia and the late Josip, Jelka, Nikola, Franjo and Marko all predeceased. Special uncle to Joe and Denise Matovinovic and their daughter Megan and sadly missed by many other loving nieces and nephews. Born in Batina, Croatia, he married Lucija (Tomac) in Sudbury in 1961. Ivan came to Canada in 1956, settling in Sudbury in 1958. He was a well known and respected resident of the Donovan. He owned and operated Ivan's Barber Shop for over 40 years. He was dedicated to his many customers who were truly his extended family. A Roman Catholic, he belonged to Sveti Marko Croatian Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards, picking blueberries, gardening and travelling. He was devoted to his loving family, especially his precious grandchildren. In particular, he was an avid fan of his grandson's hockey games and a faithful supporter of his efforts. Ivan will be remembered as a knowledgeable man who was always giving and helping others. He often was an advocate and mentor for newly immigrated families from Croatia. He had a great sense of humour and he was a wonderful story teller. Ivan will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in Sveti Marko Croatian Catholic Church, Pine St. at Alder St., Sudbury on Thursday, October 27th, 2005 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. Prayers 8 p.m. Wednesday.
