Leona Aytheryne HANNA

Leona Aytheryne Foley 1936 - 2005 Leona Autheryne Foley of 689 County Road 2 of Lansdowne passed away August 22, 2005 at Kingston General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lyn, Ontario, educated at Seeleys School, Brockville Col legiate and Vocational School and later attended Ottawa Civic Hospital Nursing Program. Leona graduated with an RN in the class of 58A. She worked at Smiths Falls Regional Hospital and Brockville General Hospital. After marrying Bruce E. Foley of Lan sdowne on June 4th, 1960 in Christ United Church of Lyn, she moved to Lansdowne. Leona worked part-time for the VON and at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, where she retired in 1996. Leona then worked at Gananoque Pharmasave until failing health forced her t o retire in 2004. Leona was predeceased by her mother and father, Pearl (nee Green) and Ernest Hanna of Lyn. She was also predeceased by three brothers in infancy. Leona is survived by one brother, Raymond Hanna and her husband Bruce E. Foley, three daughters, Kim Piazzi, Kingston, Shawna Dowd (Stephen) Gananoque, Tanya Garofalo (Marcel) Kingston and one son Michael (Renee) Lansdowne. Also survived by nine grandchildren. Leona loved life and loved to travel. She made long lasting friends which a ttributed to her large Memorial Service held on August 25 at Grace United Church, officiated by Reverend George Lavery.
