Myrtle Lillian MacDonald (née Bingley) November 01, 1922 - October 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) MacDONALD (Bingley), Myrtle Lillian - Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2005, in her 83rd year. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a daughter of the late George Ernest and Hattie Mae Bingley. She was predeceased by her husband, Earle Douglas in 1993. Born and brought up in Drum Head, Guysborough Co., she lived there until her marriage in 1941, at that time they moved to Halifax where they started and brought up their family. She attended Maritime Business College and completed two St. John Ambulance Courses. She enjoyed attending church functions, cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, reading and traveling. Myrtle and Earle spent many happy summers in their cottage at Stormont. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Kathryn MacDonald, Halifax; sons, Gerald (Theresa), Lower Sackville; Rae (Lorraine), Bedford; granddaughters, Andrea O'Brien, Bedford; Julie Tilley, Calgary; Wanda MacDonald, Lower Sackville; Carrie MacDonald, Lower Sackville; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Erin, Bedford; Cameron and Erik, Calgary. Arrangements entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, and funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, Pastor Reg Lewis and Dr. Wallace Jorden officiating. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Anglican Church Cemetery, Harrigan Cove, Halifax Co.
