Terry "Terry" Owen Dean Phillips March 21, 1950 - October 15, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home * PHILLIPS……Terry Owen Dean, age 55, of Sweets Corner/Melbourne, Florida. It is with great sorrow that, we the family, announce the sudden passing of our son and brother, on Saturday, October 15, 2005, in Melbourne, Florida. Born in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, on March 21, 1950, he was the eldest son of Owen and Minnie (Lunn) Phillips, Sweets Corner, Hants County. He was a graduate of Hants West Rural High School, Brooklyn, Nova Scotia, and Ryerson Polytechical Institute, Toronto, Ontario, with a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management. As a young boy, he was a Boy Scout and a 4H Member. He was the first manager of Windsor’s Kingsway Inn. Residing for most of his adult life in the U.S., he was employed with Holiday Inns and for the past several years worked for Cendant, Hotel Franchise Division, Florida. Terry never failed to return to his Nova Scotia roots twice a year, to visit his loving family. He was an avid tennis player and loved to sail his own boat. His sense of adventure, fun and love of traveling, resulted in a wealth of friends both in Canada and the U.S. Consequently, a memorial service was held Sunday, October 23, by his close friends in Annapolis, Maryland, where he had resided for several years. He is survived by his parents, Owen and Minnie, Sweets Corner; sisters, June (Arthur) Mumford, Windsor; Karen (Robert) Haley, Halifax; Nancy LeBlanc and Vicki (Stuart) Brown, Sweets Corner; Suzanne Phillips, Gypsum Mines; brothers, Robert (Kate) and Peter (Linda), Wentworth Rd., Windsor; several very special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Hector LeBlanc (March 10, 2005). Cremation had taken place. A memorial service, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor, with Rev. Garnet Parker officiating.
