GALLANGER, Bertram John Peacefully at the Rosewood Retirement Centre Kingston, Ontario on Wednesday October 5, 2005 in his 86th year. Born in Toronto May 12, 1920. The son of the late John & Susan Gallanger. Predeceased by his wife Marie Bonner. Bert spent many years in the retail clothing trade in Toronto and then Ottawa followed by many years in the federal government deparment of trade and commerce textiles. Following retirement Bert was a very active volunteer notably with St. Stephen's Anglican Church and the West End Chaplaincy Ottawa food bank. Bert is survived by his sister Norma Lavender (Walt) Richmond Hill, ON, neice Ellen Gallacher (David), Newmarket, ON, nephew Warren Lavender (Cathy) Ivy, ON, niece Judy Wyzel (Jim) San Antonio, California and nephew Peter Marsh (Sally) Howe Island, ON. Bert is also survived by seven grandnieces and nephews and one great-grandniece. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) on Friday, October 7 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday October 8 at 11 a.m. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 10/7/2005 - 10/8/2005
