OBITUARY MARY JANE WHITE 1957-2005 Sadly we announce the passing of Mary Jane on October 2, peacefully in her Halifax home after a long and courageous battle. Beloved daughter of Peter and the late Beatrice White of Montreal and step-mother Mary; she leaves behind her husband, Daniel O'Connell and children Sean and Kathleen, brother David White and sister-in-law Wilma of Cambridge, Ontario. Many nieces and nephews, friends, colleagues, and neighbours remember her huge laugh and generous spirit. After an early education at Mount Royal High, Mary Jane graduated from St. Mary's University School of Social Work. As a staff member of the provincial New Democratic Party she guided many election campaigns with notable success. Most recently she worked as programme manager in the conflict management and outreach programmes at Henson College of Dalhousie University. Donations in Mary Jane's name may be made to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada at 118 Victoria Street North, Sarnia, Ont. N7T 5W9. A celebration in her honour on October 8 is being held at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Wisdom Chapel in Evaristus Hall on the Mount St. Vincent Campus, Halifax. Published in the Montreal Gazette on 10/8/2005
