HUGHES, Edward Samuel (Captain Retired RCAMC) Passed away in the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 15th, 2005 in his 85th year. Edward Hughes of Petawawa, beloved husband of the late Lois Hughes (nee LeCompte). Dear father of Joan Boucher (husband Eli), Ottawa. Predeceased by son Edward L. Hughes. Grandfather to Eli, Colin, Shane, John, Elizabeth, and Kendall. Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren. Son of the late Joseph and Rose Hughes. Predeceased by sister Emily McCaffrey. Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Monday from 7 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, October 18th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. followed by cremation and interment in the family plot, Pinecrest Cemetery, Ottawa. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated). Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517 Petawawa are requested to assemble at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:30 for a service.
