Robert Duncan WILMOT

WILMOT, Robert Duncan P. Eng. University of Toronto Peacefully in hospital on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, aged 84. Beloved husband of 54 years of Gwendolen (nee Wood). Loving father of Margaret (Michael O'Connell), Douglas(Christina Wright), and Jean (Rudy Wytenburg). Dear grandfather of Maureen and Sean O'Connell, and Martin Cottreau. Brother of Allan (Marion) and Valerie (Sven Anderssen). He was very proud to be the great-grandson of Robert Duncan Wilmot, a Father of Confederation. Bob was devoted to his family, church and career. He joined St. Thomas the Apostle Church in 1956 and assisted the church in various roles for many years. His government service spanned 35 years, and included time with Energy Mines and Resources, the Defence Research Board, and the Department of National Defence. The latter involved extensive travel on special assignments. As a youth, Robert loved spending time in Larrimac, Quebec. He returned with his own family each summer to enjoy cottage life and the beautiful surroundings of the Gatineau. Friends may attend a memorial service at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, 2345 Alta Vista Drive on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at St. James Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.
