TOOMEY, Arthur Michael September 14, 1922 - October 22, 2005 After a lengthy illness at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital, Saturday, October 22, 2005, Art is now with St. Therese and friends in paradise. Husband of Helen Burgess (nee Mangione) and the late Jean (nee Graziano). Loving father of Alan (Clara), Thomas (Kari) and Kenneth (Kimberly). Deeply missed by grandchildren Keith (Ainsley), Heather (Chad Beveridge), Steven, Gregory, Jean, Patricia, Michael, Tracey and a great-grandchild, Emily. Son of the late Elizabeth Sirois and Patrick George Toomey. Survived by brothers George (Yvonne), Patrick, Regis (Shirley) and sisters Anne, Ellen and Teresa. Predeceased by brothers Thomas and Robert and a sister Mary. Cherished by brothers-in-law Nicholas (Joan), Tony, John (Illa), Joe (Patricia) and sisters-in-law Rose, Sally (Bernard), Lucy (Norman), Bunny, Annie, Sister Mary Margaret, Teresa (John) and Carmel. Served in the RCAF from January 1941 to June 1968 with service in Canada, England and with NATO in France. Prior to service in RCAF, Arthur was a goalie for the Ottawa Canadians. Art golfed for many years at the Canadian Golf and Country Club and was active in bowling, fishing and outdoor sports. Many thanks to Dr. Christine Whetter and the nursing staff on the Fourth Floor of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue (west of Carlingwood) Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday to St. Martin de Porres Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 10:30 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
