OBITUARY JOZEF A. SALOMON-DE-FRIEDBERG Passed away on October 19, 2005 at Hopital Glengarry Memorial Hospital, Alexandria, Ontario at the age of 85 years. Jozef was born on April 24, 1920 in Teresin, Poland. He was a Flight Lieutenant in the 305 Polish Squadron of the RAF during World War II. In 1946, he married Jadwiga Maczynska and the family emigrated to Canada in 1953. Jozef worked as a dyer for several textile companies in Canada and the United States before his retirement in 1985. His passions in life were tennis, bridge and hockey and in later years, his vegetable garden. He was generous and kind and always willing to lend a hand. He loved good jokes, funny stories and he liked to sing. His family meant the world to him and he always thought of them first. He is survived by his wife, Jadwiga, his children, Barbara, Elizabeth, Henry, Zofia and Adam, his grandchildren, Tristan and Cameron, his brothers Rudek Friedberg (Sacramento, California) and Andrzej Friedberg (Belfast, Prince Edward Island), his sisters Teresa Kaczmarek (Nottingham, England) and Maria Wisoky (Hobart, Tasmania). The funeral will take place on Friday, October 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Finnan's Cathedral in Alexandria, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's favourite charity.
