Mr. Lloyd Minovitch Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Passed away on November 1, 2005. Born in Southey, Saskatchewan in 1919, he was the eldest of 8 children of immigrant parents. Overcoming severe polio, he became a hotelier in Regina, including the famous Empire Hotel, and a cattle dealer, pioneering the importation of Charlais beef cattle. Retired to Richmond, BC in 1986. Predeceased by his sisters Norma Wise, Miriam Mandel, and Esther Ross and brother Harry Minovitch. Survived by wife Lea (nee Krauss), brother Simon Minovitch of Saskatoon and sisters Dr. Eve Sakoisky of Florida and Divera Lukeman of Nova Scoation, daughters Bobbi Soderstrom of Ottawa and Leslie Minovitch of Richmond, granddaughters Daisy Soderstrom of Ottawa, Dr. Melanie Soderstrom Richters of Massachusetts, and Rachael Finkelstein of Richmond. Warm and loving, he had a gentle soul. Donations may be made to the Louis Brier Foundation or Hadassah-Wizo.
