Francesco Pontrelli January 25, 1930 - November 05, 2005 Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Hospital, with his family by his side, on Saturday, November 5, 2005, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of 54 years and best friend to Raffaella (nee D'Astice). Devoted father to Michele and his wife Anna, Vincenzo and his wife Leigh, Nicola and his wife Zina, Giuseppe, and Chiara and her husband Pat. Cherished Nonno to Dan and his wife Kristine, Joe and his wife Giselle, Francesco, Raffaella, Franco, Olivia, Devon, Catarina, Patrick and Jacob. Great-grandfather to Malik. Predeceased by his father Michele, mother Irene, and brothers Nicola, Pasquale and Paolo. Loving brother to Giuseppe and the late Saverina, Marietta and the late Luigi Battaglia, Filomena and Vincenzo Mastrolonardo, all of Italy, and Teresa and the late Cosimo Giordano of Hamilton. Dear brother-in-law to the late Lellina and Angelo Mariella, Maria and the late Michele Caldarula of Sardegna, Giovanna and the late Giuseppe Laricchia of Italy, Antonietta and the late Carlo Mariella, Vincenzo and Angela D'Astice all of Hamilton, and Mariella and the late Giuseppe D'Astice of Italy. Francesco's smile and loving ways will be sadly missed by his nephews, nieces and many friends both in Canada and in Italy. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Ramsdale and Nurse Anne from the Firestone Clinic at St. Joseph's Hospital, as well as Dr. Fuller, Dr. Brimble and the dedicated and loving team from 3 Nephrology at St. Joseph's Hospital. A warm thank you to Jane from C.C.A.C., for your compassion and kind care you showed Francesco. Visitation is on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel. Vigil Prayers on Tuesday at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Anthony's Church on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 10 a.m., Entombment to follow.
