Raymond "Black Bear Medicine Man" George Raven April 05, 1949 - November 07, 2005 Peacefully at his residence in Hollow Water with his family by his side, Raymond George Raven passed away on Monday November 7, 2005 at the age of 56 years. Raymond was born at Hollow Water on April 5, 1949 and had resided there his entire life. He enjoyed the outside, hunting and spiritual gatherings and pow wow’s. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, son Raymond Jr., son Kevin Raven (Holly), daughter Raquel Raven (Faron), Sisters Beatrice Moneyas (Norman), Marilyn Sinclair (Dennis), Brothers Gary Raven (Evelyn), Larry Raven (Doreen), Albert Raven (Matilda), Robert Raven (Jennifer), Michael Raven (Marie). Grandchildren Nicholas, Brenda and Madison, several nieces and nephews, God Sons Ron Fontaine and Terril Bushie. Raymond was predeceased by his wife Louise Raven "Butterfly Woman" August 20, (2001). Father John Raven September 9, (1993), mother Flora Raven December 17, (1983). Prayers will be said Tuesday, November 8, 2005 from 7 to 12 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue at Parr. Wake services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, Thursday, November 10, and Friday, November 11 at the Raven Residence. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the Roman Catholic Church with Father Gerry officiating. Interment to follow at the Ravens Creek Spiritual Grounds.
