Mr. Thomas "Tom" William Palmer May 29, 1925 - November 08, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Victoria) PALMER, Thomas William, born May 29, 1925 in Ottawa, Ontario, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2005 in Victoria, BC. He is predeceased by his son David in 2001. Tom will be sadly missed by his loving wife Hilda of 55 years, his two sons Fred of Nanaimo, Brent (Laurie) of Victoria, one daughter Wendy (Bill) of Edmonton, and daughter-in-law Alison of Victoria. Tom is also survived by his 7 grandchildren; Justin, Kelsey, Dylan, Megan, Lara, Taylor, and Andrea, three sisters and numerous neices and nephews. Tom joined the RCAF on July 19, 1943. Following a 23 year career as a welder, Tom retired from the Air Force and moved to Victoria in 1966. Tom continued to work for the next 18 years with the municipality of Saanich, retiring at 60. He was an active volunteer with Gordon Head United Church, the Air Museum in Edmonton and Nanton, Alberta, as well as the Museum of Flight in Victoria, BC. Memorial service for Tom will be held in Gordon Head United Church, 4201 Tyndall Avenue, Victoria, BC on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 2:00pm. Reverend Michael Caveney officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Donation may be made in Tom's memory to the Gordon Head United Church, Lifter Fund, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
