Alfonse John Hruska May 17, 1921 - November 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mr. Alfonse Hruska passed away on November 9, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Care Group at the age of 84. Al was born in Gerald, Saskatchewan on May 17, 1921 to John and Annie. He attended business college until joining the army in 1942. He worked for many years as an accountant for Domtar in Red Rock, until retiring in Thunder Bay. On November 15, 1968 he married Geraldine Iris Cook. Al enjoyed traveling, gardening and photography and was well known in his earlier years for his accordion playing. Al was a collector of stamps and coins. He is survived by his wife Iris, sister Adele, step-children Albert and Bruce (Carmen) and 9 step-grandchildren. Many other relatives also survive. Al is predeceased by his parents, step-daughter Donna, sister Marjorie and brother Larry. A graveside service for Mr. Alfonse Hruska will be held on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A luncheon will follow the service from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home. Those not attending the graveside service are welcome to join the family for the luncheon at 12:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
