Shirley Maude DeYoung (née Hutt) October 06, 1925 - November 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) DeYOUNG, Shirley Maude - 80, Halifax, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2005, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Owl's Head, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ida (Barkhouse) Hutt. She was a member of Edgewood United Church. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting and traveling. Shirley also enjoyed playing cards. Surviving are her husband, Art; sister, Muriel, Halifax; sister-in-law, Marion, Halifax; nieces, Ann, Bedford; Pat, Halifax; nephew, Jim Todd; son-in-law, Gordon, Bedford. Shirley was predeceased by her daughter, Alice. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax and there will be no visitation by request. A graveside gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 14, in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
