Norine Elizabeth McGuire (née Dufour) January 03, 1934 - November 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by James H Sutton Funeral Home McGuire, Norine Elizabeth (nee Dufour) 71 years. Passed away peacefully at home, showing amazing strength and courage during her lengthy battle with cancer, on Sunday, November 13, 2005. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Bernard, and her children Al & Sue McGuire, Chris McGuire, Sue Prieur, Ed McGuire & friend Fiona Mercer, Patty & Craig Drury, John McGuire, Joan & Curtis Shea, Dan & Jen McGuire, Dave McGuire, and Lisa McGuire & her fiancé Martin Kulka. Dear grandmother of Brian, Sandra and Nicole Prieur, Matthew McGuire, Michael, Sarah, Amanda and Andrew Drury, and Kimberly, Kevin and Tyler Shea. Predeceased by her parents, Hilda (Burns)(1979) and Arthur Dufour (1970). Dear sister of Vincent and Doris Dufour, Alice Dufour (1987), Mary Ethel Dow, Louise Dufour (1943) and Virginia Dufour. Dear sister-in-law of Isabel McGuire, Orval and Florence McGuire, Betty Jane and Ivan Bezaire, Marianne (1974) and Donald (1986) Bondy, and Joe and Connie McGuire. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of the Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic, Windsor Regional Hospital, and Hospice, the VON, CCAC and Comcare for their support and care of Norine. Norine devoted countless hours to her crocheting and other handiwork to assist with the “African Missions” project started by her sisters Alice and Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the African Missions c/o St. John the Baptist Church. Visiting at the James H. Sutton Funeral Home, 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg (736-2134) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8 p.m. Family and friends are invited to meet on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at St. Clement’s Church, 9567 Walker Rd., McGregor for the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. NOTE: PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.obituariestoday.com. A tree will be planted in memory of Norine in the Sutton Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 24, 2006. All are welcome.
