William "Bill" Archibald McLaughlin December 15, 1920 - November 15, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) McLAUGHLIN, William Archibald "Bill" - 85, Waverley, formerly of Fairview, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born December 15, 1920 in Antigonish, he was the son of the late Angus and Christina (Hickey) McLaughlin. Bill was a veteran of the Second World War and worked at the Halifax Shipyards as a blacksmith for many years. He is survived by sons, Michael (Margaret), Waverley; Lloyd (Marilyn), Spryfield; Murray (Margaret), Coquitlam, B.C.; grandchildren, Kelly (Jasen) Purdy, Sackville; Bente (Andy) Hasler, Australia; Joseph McLaughlin, Halifax; Sam McLaughlin, Coquitlam, B.C.; great-grandchildren, Austen and Jessica Purdy, Elli Rose Hasler. He was predeceased by wife, Rosella Matilda (McPhee) McLaughlin; sisters, Catherine Hawks, Margaret Carlin, and Isabella McLaughlin. Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and where the funeral service will take place on Friday, November 18, at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
