McTAGGART, Gordon A. (Captain) - It is with deep sorrow that the family of Gordon announces that he passed away on November 19, 2005, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Dear husband of Patricia (Burch), loving father of Nancy Legros (Dayle), Tracy James (Kevin), Leslie Reynolds (Bill), Wanda Hingley (Guy) and Gordon McTaggart. Grandfather of Cyndi Webb (Mike), Denise Iliffe (Chad), Kenneth Faris (Amber), Jason, Adam and Corey Legros, Thomas and Nathan McTaggart, Heather and Brian Potter, Trevor and Kyle Hingley. Great-grandfather of Riley, Kierra, Logan, Codi, Tyler, Owen, Grayci, and Brody. Much loved brother of Donald McTaggart (Marion) Russell McTaggart (Lorraine), Stan McTaggart and Irene Cushing. Gordon was employed as a Mariner for over 40 years, working in the oil industry. He was a member of Welland Avenue United Church, member of Independent Order of Oddfellows, Union Lodge #16 Empire Lodge #87, Rebekahs #266, Past District Deputy Grandmaster, Past District Deputy Patriarch Encampment and Past Grand Monarch of Amos Division. Gordon was also a member of the Niagara Mariners Club. He will be sadly missed for his kind heart, his gentle manner and his love of life and his family. Special thanks to Dr. Samosh, Dr. Sandra Hartman, nurse Muggs, Irene and the staff of the Oncology Unit. Also a special thank you to nurse Nancy and all support staff for their care. Special thanks to family and friends whose love and support gave us strength during this most difficult time.
