Mrs. Janet "Jennie" Parker Bell December 31, 1917 - November 20, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Nanaimo) Bell-Janet Parker (Jennie) Born in Nanaimo, B.C. on December 31 1917. Passed away peacefully at home on November 20th 2005. Jennie was the youngest of six children to Hugh & Jean Mercer. She is predeceased by her husband Richard (Red) in 1982. Jennie is survived by her son Jim (Janet) and daughter Nancy (Brian) , granddaughters Kim & Karen Wilkinson. Nieces Irene (George), Ginger (Terry), Isabel (Bob), nephews Robert, & Jack (Mitt) and many great nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to her. Jennie was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, joining at the age of six. She was a tireless worker for her church on many committiees and boards over the years. In 1955 Jennie joined the Navy League, Nanaimo Branch and worked for the Cadets for 21 years. In 1963 the Navy League Wrennette Corp was named the "Jennie Bell Wrennette Corp" now renamed as the Navy League J.P. Bell Corp. A Memorial Service for Jennie will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 4235 Departure Bay Road, on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 2:00p.m. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennie's memory may be made to St. Andrews Church or to a charity of ones choice. Condolences may be offered at www.sands-funeral.com Sands - Nanaimo
