John "Bob" Robert Kelly June 07, 1946 - November 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) KELLY, John Robert "Bob" - Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was the youngest son of the late Arthur R. and Dorothea M. (Power) Kelly. Bob served for 29 years as a firefighter for the City of Halifax and was a cab driver for Casino Taxi for many years. Bob will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a very caring and generous man who will leave an empty spot in many hearts. Surviving are his wife of almost 40 years, Sandra (Thorne); son, Robb, Lower Sackville; daughter, Karen (Michael Courtney), Lower Sackville; and his pride and joy, grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his only brother and best friend, Ronald Arthur. The family would like to thank Natalie, Holly and Carol, nurses in the 3A - ICU, VG Site, QEII, for their care and support during this emotional time, as well, our thanks to Dr. Watt and Dr. Patrick for their guidance and respectful treatment of us as family, as well as our beloved Bob. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. A memorial service will be held in St. John Vianney Church, Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, on Monday, November 28, at 10 a.m. Burial following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Following burial, the family invites everyone to join them in the church hall for refreshments and fellowship. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
