BRENDA KAY VAN GUSE Brenda Kay Van Guse, 46, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005 at home, surrounded by family and friends, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born May 31, 1959, in Yakima, Wash. Brenda spent her time as a professional volunteer working to help other people. From 1998-2004, she volunteered at the Falls Hunger Coalition. She also volunteered during tax season completing tax returns for seniors, as well as with “Circles of Support” helping families work their way out of poverty. Brenda loved people and would light up a room when she entered. When she laughed, everyone laughed with her. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Dorothea Burlingame; paternal grandfather, Albert Schneider; and father, David Schneider. Brenda is survived by her husband, Joseph Van Guse of International Falls, Mn.; sister, Susan McVey of Fallon, Nev.; mother, Barbara (Ken) Paxton of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; grandmother, Gladys Schneider of Yakima, Wash.; cousin, Lynn (Fred) Mears of Yakima, Wash.; Uncle Allen (Norma) Burlingame of Yakima, Wash.; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2005 from 5-7 p.m. at Green Larsen Mortuary Memorial Chapel in International Falls. A memorial service will be held after Minnesota flowers are in full bloom. Brenda requests that in memoriam donations be in the form of donations to the Falls Hunger Coalition in lieu of flowers.
