Kenneth McCuish ROY

ROY, Kenneth McCuish Commander RCN (ret'd) Peacefully at home in Ottawa, on Monday, November 7, 2005 in his 88th year. Predeceased by his dearest wife Shirley (nee Morash), his father Alexander and his mother Lillian (nee Moffat). He is survived by beloved Marcheta (Biddiscombe) of Ottawa. Cherished father of David (Anne Nash) of Ottawa, Ian (Irene) of Smiths Falls, Andrew (Danielle) of Peterborough and Bruce (Kerry) of Ottawa. Treasured granddad of Allison, Jeffrey, Bradley, Ken, Grant, Matthew and Jackson. Dear brother of Wallace (Kae) of Oakville, Alexander (Merriam) of Duncan B.C., and Douglas (Jean) of Halifax, N.S. He will be well remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins and a wide circle of friends. Born April 5, 1918 in Glace Bay, N.S., Ken proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy from the Second World War through to 1967 and upon his retirement completed a second career with DND. He served as president of the RCN Curling Club Ottawa and golfed well into his 80's at the Hylands Golf Club. Ken led a remarkable life of adventure and passion for everything he committed to. Ken leaves behind a true legacy of seas sailed, songs well played and stories told - occasionally twice! Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes 3440 Richmond Rd., (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.), on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
