Eric Charles MACHIN

MACHIN, Eric Charles "Gone To Be With The Lord" Peacefully in hospital in Smiths Falls on Thursday, November 3, 2005 in his 92nd year. Loving, caring and devoted husband of Ila (McCreary) of Smiths Falls for 66 years. Predeceased by infant son Gerald, two brothers (Donald and Ross) and one sister and survived by many nieces and nephews. Eric was born in Almonte and spent most of his adult years in Smiths Falls as an Engineer with the C.P.R. Subsequently, he was elected as Chairman of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers in Montreal where he spent the last 12 years of his career before retiring in Smiths Falls. Eric was a perfect gentleman by any standards and those who knew him will miss this honest and trusted individual. As per Eric's wishes, no visitation will be held. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lannin Funeral Home in Smiths Falls, ON, Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. Interment of urn, Hillcrest Cemetery. Thanks to the Staff at the Smiths Falls Hospital and to the Staff at the Van Horne Retirement Home, for their compassion and wonderful care.
