Sarah Bergen GRANT

STALLEY, Sarah Bergen (Nee Grant) Born: 3rd August 1933 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Died: November 18th, 2005 after a brief illness, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dearly loved wife of the late Frank Palmer Stalley (deceased March 4th 2005). She is survived by her daughter Christian and her spouse Trevor, and her beloved grandson Callum. Also survived by her sister Caroline Gill (Christopher), and her brother Gregor Grant (Sigrid). Daughter of the late Vice-Admiral Harold Grant and Christian (nee Mitchell). She will be deeply missed by niece Sue Jonker (Josh), nephews John Grant, and Timothy, Andrew, Will (Anita, son Nikolas) and Ian (Lisa Primavesi) Gill, and many cousins. Sarah worked as Assistant Editor of Canadian Art magazine in the early 1960s as well as short time with the NFB. One of Sarah's more exciting jobs was as a Protocol Coordinator for Expo 67, meeting Heads of State and Royalty from around the world. After marrying, Sarah and Frank moved to Vancouver, then to London, England, with their daughter, Christian. On returning to Canada, Sarah became a Realtor in Halifax. Sarah's life was filled with close friends and adventure. She had an insatiable appetite for the arts, good literature and travel, which she indulged in her youth and then shared with her husband Frank. They travelled extensively in North America, Europe, Eastern Europe and Africa. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Church of St. David, Grafton St, Halifax, on Wednesday November 23rd, at 2:00 pm.
