Jerry BERES

BERES, Jerry Born in Cracow, Poland on November 11, 1923 and died peacefully at home in Ottawa on Thursday, November 24, 2005. A member of the Quebec Order of Engineers. Jerry was a senior manager and engineer in Poland who worked throughout Asia and Africa. In 1969, he emigrated to Canada with his wife Wanda and daughter Margo. He subsequently worked as a senior project engineer in northern Quebec and then with the City of Montreal before retiring. Always curious about the world and its people and politics, Jerry was an accomplished linguist and enjoyed the company of his family, friends, and co-workers and the many others he encountered in life. He is survived by his wife Wanda and daughter Margo (Brendan Hawley) and grandsons Andrew and Patrick Hawley of Ottawa. He is also survived by his sister Anita and her family.
