SELMAN, Gary It is with profound sadness that Diane, Christopher and Jonathan Selman of Kanata, announce the sudden passing of their most kind and beloved husband and father, Gary James Selman, age 56, State Farm Insurance Agent, suddenly while playing his favorite sport, hockey at the Mlacak Centre Thursday November 24. We thank his friends for trying to save his life and all their support. To all who have known Gary, they would have met a "gentleman", in the true essence of the word. In a loving 32-year partnership with his wife Diane, together they built so much in so little time. They were best friends. Gary was the best Dad possible who did anything for his two sons. Even in farewell, he will remain a lasting role model in work, life and most importantly, love. Gary was unconditionally dedicated to his customers and he loved his family and friends. Gary could always be counted on. Forever supportive, kind deeds came natural and were always done. He truly cared about everyone. Gary was born in Port Arthur ON, son of Gordon and Kathleen Selman. He grew up in Thunder Bay until he moved with his family to Ottawa in 1981. He is survived by his siblings: Donald Selman, Shebandawon ON; Ronald Selman, BC; Jackie Thornburrow, Carstairs, AB; Darlene Nuttal, Calgary, AB. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and offers of support. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday to Holy Redeemer Church for Service at 10 a.m. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 11/26/2005 - 11/27/2005
