Mr. Robert Hugh MacKay April 04, 1919 - November 28, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) MacKAY, Robert Hugh - 86, Dartmouth, passed away November 28, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Middle Ohio, Shelburne Co., he was a son of the late Harold and Vesta (Erwin) MacKay. Back in the early 1950s, he pitched for the Shelburne Loyalists, as well as being an avid bowler. Bob was Captain of Shelburne Fire Department and later went on to enjoy a lengthy career with the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Atkinson); daughters, Diane (Don) Spencer, Barbara (Ken) Poole; brother, Lawrence; sister, Jennie Gertrude Atkinson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Frederick and Donald. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shelburne Fire Department.
