Mr. John Young Chaisson March 20, 1926 - December 01, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) CHAISSON, John Young - 79, Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Sugarloaf, Victoria Co., Cape Breton, he was a son of the late David and Catherine (Burton) Chaisson. John was the beloved husband of Ann (Drover) Chaisson. During their life together they raised five children. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Catherine (Robie) Ross, Margaree Valley; sons, Wayne (Vicki), Kingston, Ont.; Robert (Heather), Lower Sackville; Tony (Susan), Fall River; daughter-in-law, Karen, Waverley; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Zephie, Leo and Charlie. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters in infancy, Sarah and Alice; as well as his beloved son, Derek. John served his country for 32 years with the Canadian Armed Forces being posted to Korea, Germany, Egypt and various places across Canada, retiring as Chief Foods Services Officer. He then worked for Wood Motors Ford from where he retired in 1991. Besides his pride in family, he enjoyed gardening, holidays and socializing with his many friends. John also volunteered with the Canadian Diabetes Association, serving as vice president from 1965-1970 in Fredericton, N.B. Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and where the funeral service will take place on Monday, December 5, at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. Family flowers only.
