Virginia "Ginny" Marie Carroll September 22, 1919 - January 02, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) CARROLL, Virginia Marie "Ginny" - 85, Halifax, passed away January 2, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ginny was the glue that kept her family so strong. A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, she was a lifelong resident of Rockingham. She will be sadly missed by her family. She was a daughter of the late Lester and Mary (White) Stoneman and stepdaughter of the late Helen (Samson) Stoneman. Ginny is survived by her son, Jack (Marguerite) Carroll, Sackville; daughters, Betty-Lou Cox, Sackville; Colleen (Larry) Gumbley, Waverley; Debbie (Harvey) Fredericks, Rockingham; grandchildren, Michele (Greg) Raleigh, Colorado, U.S.A.; Rhonda Cox, Calgary, Alta.; Darren (Christina) Cox, Toronto, Ont.; Roger (Joanna) Carroll, Sackville; Richard and Ryan Gumbley, Waverley; Matthew, Adam and Amy Fredericks, Rockingham; great-grandchildren, Rachel Cox, Calgary, Alta.; Kelsey and Jennifer Carroll, Sackville; Kyle and Colby Cox, Toronto, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert John; siblings, Marg, Rita, Claire, Gene, Lester Jr.; grandson, Ian Fredericks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where a memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 5. There will be no visitation by family request. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ginny's memory to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Palliative Care, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
