Olive June Hillier June 05, 1931 - January 01, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) HILLIER, Olive June - 73, Dartmouth, departed this life Saturday, January 1, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born June 5, 1931, in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Roach) Young. Olive will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her sons, Michael, Kitchener, Ont.; Stephen, Nanaimo, B.C.; Bruce (Bonnie), Little Dyke, Colchester Co.; Robert (Debi), Trenton, Ont.; daughter, Leslie (Ken) Morgan, Dundalk, Ireland; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian MacKay, Halifax; Alice (Ray) Heddle, St. Thomas, Ont.; sister-in-law, Verna Nauffts, Lake Charlotte; many nieces and nephews in Ontario and North Sydney. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Hillier in July 1988. During their time in the armed forces, the family resided in Hemer, Germany; White Spruce, Sask., and Oromocto, N.B. After retirement, they owned and operated a nursing home facility in St. Jacob's, Ont. Olive was an avid gardener, homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, and a very good friend to many including six very special people: Audrey Smith, Nadie Dow, Rose Richard, Ruby Tizzard, Brenda Pozdnekoff, Edna Landry. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today and 1-3 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 p.m. Friday in Saint Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 10 Maple St., Dartmouth, Father Owen Connolly officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Olive's memory to S.P.C.A., 5 Scarfe Court, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1W4 would be appreciated.
