GAPSKI, Roman B. WWII Veteran P.Eng. Public Works The family announces with sadness the passing of Roman at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus on Tuesday, January 4, 2005. Beloved husband, friend and partner of Janina for 58 years. Loving father of Alina (John MacFarlane) and John (Deborah). Dear Dziadzia of John Michael and Katy MacFarlane, and Christopher, Gregory, Andrew and Laura Gapski. Predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother. He will be sadly missed by many friends and relatives in Canada, Poland, and England. Educated in Poland, he was an Artillery Captain in the 2nd Polish Corps. He was actively involved in the Polish Community, a member of the Polish Combatants Association and the Association of Polish Engineers. Roman was an enthusiastic supporter of the Polish Catholic University of Lublin. Friends may visit at McEvoy Shields Funeral Home, 235 Kent Street on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Hyacinth's Church (Louisa at LeBreton Streets). Private Cremation. In memoriam donations to the Glebe Centre, 950 Bank Street or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. J. Zaremba, Dr. G.
