PACKMAN, Douglas James 1919-2005 Loving husband, friend, father, brother and grandfather. Throughout his life, Doug was a good friend to all he met. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Audrey; sons, Graham (Kerry), Stephen (Terry), John (Cynthia); brothers Ron and Wally; sister Doris. He was predeceased by his sister Isabelle. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Chelsea, Mathew, James, Josh and Drew. They provided him with a great source of enjoyment and humour. Doug leaves behind many friends and great memories. He was passionate about gardening, sports, golfing and his family. He loved people, and wherever he went a conversation wasn't very far behind. He was a kind, determined and passionate man. An economist by profession, Doug was also a veteran of WW2, where he served his country overseas. His Monday Bridge Club was a weekly source of enjoyment, solving world problems and out bidding each other. Dignity was his guiding principle and his legacy. They don't make them like him anymore. He will be sorely missed.
