John Myron BABCOCK

BABCOCK, John Myron John passed away Friday, January 7, 2005, at his home, after a long illness. Predeceased by his father Chief James Babcock, his mother Olive, and his two brothers Jim and Roy. John was much loved and will be sorely missed by his dear friend Joan Edwards, his three sisters Marjorie Fuller, Isobel Lovisot, Dorothy Gray, and his many nieces and nephews. John was born in Dresden, moved to Kingsville, where he grew up. He worked in Babcock's Restaurant and later bought Burrows News, a friendly and successful confectionary. He opened and managed the Kentucky Fried Chicken stores in Kingsville, Amherstburg, and Essex. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #41 and received his 50 year pin in 2004, a member of Kingsville Legion Branch #188 for many years and past patron of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 19, for eight terms. He was well known in Kingsville as a businessman giving freely of his time and friendship. Everyone who knew John loved him. We, the family, send many thanks to Dr. P. Kelton, the wonderful staff at the C.C.A.C, St. Elizabeth nurses, and all his wonderful friends for their love and friendship. Friends will be received at the C. Stuart Sykes Funeral Home, 91 Division St. S., Kingsville, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service from the Funeral Home, on Wednesday, January 12th, at 11 a.m. Rev. Colin Swan officiating. Interment in Green-hill Cemetery, Kingsville. Order of Eastern Star Service Tuesday 7 p.m., Kingsville Masonic Lodge Service Tues-day 7:30 p.m., Can.
