Carol S. Butcher (née Stevens) January 09, 1921 - January 05, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Bowman Funeral Home BUTCHER: Carol Starr Stevens, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Erie Beach, on Wednesday, January 5, 2005. Registered Nurse and former teacher of RNA (now RPN) program at CKSS, Chatham. Predeceased by widely known parents Mildred and Starr Stevens of Sleepy Hollow and by beloved husband Tom. Dear younger sister of Mollie Stevens Smart (Washington State, USA). Cherished mother of Steve Charlton and wife Christiane (Montreal) and grandmother of David. Cherished mother of Robert Charlton and wife Janine (California) and grandmother of Robyn and Shannon. A memorial service will be held at Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham (1-519-352-2390) on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 2:00pm followed by a brief interment of the ashes at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. In lieu of flowers, Carol would prefer that donations be made in her name to any organization dedicated to preserving the world's Wild Places for future generations and/or preserving wildlife itself, such as the World Wildlife Fund, 245 Eglington Ave. E., Suite 410, Toronto, M4P 3J1, (1-800-26-PANDA) or alternatively the Sierra Legal Defence Fund, Suite 214, 131 Water St., Vancouver, V6B 4M3 (1-800-926-7744-ext.243).
