Lauretta Margaret Smith (née Burbridge) September 02, 1927 - January 10, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) SMITH, Lauretta Margaret - 77, Halifax, passed away January 10, 2005, in Melville Gardens. Born in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lauretta (Murray) Burbridge. Lauretta was a loving and caring wife and mother and devoted most of her life to raising her children and also enjoyed travelling with her family. She was always there to give a helping hand to her neighbours and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Surviving are her daughters, Carol (John) Dennison, Halifax; Donna (Dennis Thornton) McLean, Halifax; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Koren; great-grandchildren, Diaz, Amanda, A.J., Antonio, Brittany, Daniel and Austin. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Edward Smith. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, from where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday. Burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery.
