Mrs. Wladyslawa Jedrzejczyk, Walles March 20, 1910 - January 10, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Nanaimo) JEDRZEJCZYK, Wladyslawa (Walles), born March 20, 1910 in Mareczki/Lubelskie, Poland passed away at Nanaimo Seniors Village on January 10, 2005. Predeceased by her husband of 68 years Boleslaw in February 2002. Walles is survived by her son Frank, daughter Anna (Robert) Champman, grandson Brent (Nancy) Chapman, granddaughter Brenda (John) Ryan and great grandchildren: Paul, Leanne Ryan and Blake, Daniel, Jaclyn Chapman all of Toronto. They were married in Poland in 1933 and immigrated to Canada. Walles then cared for and raised her family during the war years while Robert was on the European front. After the war they settled in Nanaimo and lived here all their lives. Walles was a very caring, friendly, loving person and touched the hearts of everyone she knew. She was very active during her life and helped many people in many ways including immigrant people to start new lives in Canada after the war. She was a very proficient seamstress and loved tending to her flower garden. She was a founding member of the Polish Friendship Soceity “Zqoda” and hosted her own radio programme with Polish music and news in the late 50’s. She helped cater at many banquets and functions and was famous for her cabbage rolls. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and everyone who knew her and especially her loving family. Special thanks to Dr. Lane for his continuing care and also sincerest thanks to the staff at Nanaimo Seniors Village for the kind, comforting attention you all provided for Mom’s care and comfort during her stay at the home. We sincerely thank you all. Prayers will be said for Walles on Thursday January 13, 2005 at 7:00pm at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Machleary St. followed by a Funeral Mass on Friday January 14, 2005 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the family plot at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined. For those so desiring donations in memory of Walles may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
