Joseph "Joe" Alphonse Gaudet August 01, 1921 - January 11, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) GAUDET, Joseph Alphonse "Joe" - 83, Halifax, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2005, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born on Prince Edward Island, he was the son of the late John and Madelyn (Perry) Gaudet. Joe was a pipefitter for most of his life belonging to Plumbing and Pipefitting Local 56. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved fishing and camping. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, the former Madeline McNamara; daughters, Carolyn (David) Mercer, Enfield; Deborah, Halifax; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Bob (Simone) Little, who has helped the family through this trying time. He was predeceased by his son, Wayne; four brothers and three sisters. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax. At Joe's request there will be no visitation. Memorial mass will take place at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the parish hall. No flowers by request. In memory of Joe, donations may be made to Canadian Red Cross to help the victims recently affected by the tsunami.
