Irene M. Lawrence May 13, 1941 - January 13, 2005 It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Irene Lawrence, 63, a resident of Highland Street, Glace Bay. Irene passed away Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex. Born in Glace Bay, May 13, 1941, she is the daughter of the late Graham and Irene (McInnis) MacDonald, also of Glace Bay. Irene was an avid member of St. Anthony Parish in Glace Bay. Irene is survived by her deepest love and companion of 45 years, Duncan, her son Graham, Ontario; daughter Ignace, Ontario; son-in law Clint, Ontario; Grandchildren - Brittany, Ontario; Tiffany, Tower Road; Tyler, Ontario and Travis, Ontario. Irene is also survived by her sisters, Jeanette, Sydney Road; Anne Marie, Glace Bay, Cecilia, Sydney and Debbie, Halifax. Irene will be remembered fondly by her many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Irene was an easygoing, fun loving woman who loved life. Rarely would five minutes pass without Irene sending someone into fits of giggles. She loved to make people laugh She will be greatly missed by all. Irene worked at St. Rita’s Hospital in Sydney for approximately 18 years in housekeeping department. Irene will be remembered for her smile, good humour, laughter and as a good friend to everyone. Never at a loss for words, she enjoyed conversation with everyone she met. Visitation for the late Irene take place on Sunday & Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in V.J McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, Glace Bay. Fr. Peter LeBlanc will be officiating. Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
