Colleen Marie MCGARRITY

Colleen Marie McGarrity 1960 - 2005 Colleen Marie McGarrity, formerly of Halifax, NS, passed away at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the age of 44. Born in Riverview, she was the daughter of Allen and Gloria (Pappas) McGarrity. Colleen was an avid speed skater and had taught speed skating in Dartmouth, NS. She competed on the national level up to the time she was critically injured in an automobile accident. She also attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. Besides her parents she is survived by brothers, Stephen McGarrity (Tracey) and Deno Pappas (Cathy), both of Riverview; nephews, Michael and Robert; nieces, Colleen and Angela; uncles, Fr. Richard McGarrity, Maurice McGarrity (Joan), and Jim Pappas (Pam); aunts, Genieve and Margaret McGarrity. She was also predeceased by a nephew, Ryan McGarrity and uncles, George, Peter and Nick Pappas and Dr. Philip McGarrity. Visitation will be held at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview on Monday, January 17, 2005 from 7 to 9 pm, with parish prayers to be held at 8:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held from the Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Fr. Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment will be in Wesleyan Union Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the memorial of donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
