Robert David Johnston June 15, 1951 - January 16, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Taylor Funeral Home (Newmarket Chapel) Peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, January 16, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 53. Remembered with love by his wife Kate (Cathy) of 30 years, son Mitchell and daughter-in-law Heather, son Kevin, mother Betty, brothers Bruce and Scott and sisters-in-law Janice and Heather, by nephews Chris, Russ, Steven, and by parents-in-law Moria and Graham Mitchell. Predeceased by his father Harry. Rob grew up in Fergus and North York. Rob and family have lived in Newmarket for 18 years where he carried on his land development planning business and participated in the Bayview Hills Eagles Scout Troop with his sons. Rob's gentle nature and big heart will be missed by many. Special thanks to SRT Nursing, especially Sherry and Robert, to Southlake Cancer Clinic staff, and to our good friends Drs. Anna and Andrew Wojcicki. Friends will be received at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME "NEWMARKET CHAPEL" 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket, 905-898-2100 on Friday, January 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Rob's life will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment to take place in the spring in Fergus.
