William "Jim" James Day January 03, 1931 - January 14, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) DAY, William James "Jim" - 74, Dartmouth, passed away January 14, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late James and Fannie (Williams) Day. Jim worked at the Halifax Shipyards for 41 years up until his retirement in 1991. He was an avid woodworker an also enjoyed gardening as well as feeding and watching birds. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Alice Marie Hamilton; daughter, Karen (Aiden) Donahue, Dartmouth and their children Natalie Myers and Sarah; sons, Robert (Sondra), Elmsdale and their children Allan and Christopher; Kelvin (Wendy) and children James and Allison; as well as brother, Norman (Dorothy), Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his brother, Gordon. Cremation has taken place. The family received visitors from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Canon David Reid officiating. Burial to follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held in the funeral home. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia
