Cyril "Fred" Frederick Smith September 28, 1924 - January 16, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) SMITH, Cyril Frederick "Fred" - 80, Terence Bay. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their father, Fred, on January 16, 2005. Fred passed away peacefully in QEII Health Sciences Centre surrounded by his family. Fred had been a wonderful, loving father and a kind and caring friend to all those who knew him. Fred was employed at Moirs Ltd. for many years and retired from the waterfront where he worked as a freight handler. Fred was a lifetime resident of Terence Bay. He was a son of the late Will and Evelyn (Slaunwhite) Smith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; brothers, Earl, Jack, Jeff, George, and Neil; sisters, Evelyn, Irene, Olive, and Arora; son-in-law, David. He is survived by his children, Freddie (Joan), Linda, Stephen (Lana), Dianne (Frank), Donnie (Michele); eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his long-time companion, Thelma Thomas and her children, David (Mildred), Danny (Darlene), Shelley (Kenny), Bradley (Heather), and Angie (Tim). Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held in St. Paul's Anglican Church in Terence Bay on Wednesday, January 19, at 11 a.m., Rev. Lisa Vaughn officiating. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery. Family flowers only.
