Mrs. Alexandra "Sonya" Buciak (née Schkrabida) September 28, 1928 - January 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Born in Schedrown, Ukraine, on September 28th, 1928. Sonya passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2005, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Frank; daughters, Mary (John) and Irene (Jim); 1 brother and 2 sisters in Brazil; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Minoru Residence for all the care she received over the years. A Prayer Service will be held in the Chapel of the Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, BC, on Wednesday, January 19th, 2005, at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Ukrainian Church, 8700 Railway Avenue, Richmond, BC, on Thursday, January 20th, 2005, at 10:00 am. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the charity of one's choosing.
