Ruth Isabelle Bishop November 29, 1923 - January 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) BISHOP, Ruth Isabelle - 81, Halifax, entered into rest January 17, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Charlottetown, she is now safely home with her parents, John and Eliza (McFadyen) MacKenzie. Ruth worked at Maritime Tel and Tel for over 12 years, retiring in the late 1980s. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her sister, reading, harness racing, and traveling home to Prince Edward Island. She will be missed by her friends at the Halifax Forum. She is survived by daughter, Carol (Hadley) Sweet, Halifax; son, Douglas, Alberta; brother, Raymond (Donna) MacKenzie, British Columbia; sister, Mildred Greer, Halifax; grandchildren, Christopher and Heather Sweet, Halifax; Jonathan, Florida; Charles, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Stuart, Tony, Jake, Amber, Emma. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Charles Bishop, and brother, Stuart. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. with memorial service Thursday at 2 p.m., both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Rev. Jim Martell officiating.
